No matter the season, you can’t let your guard down when it comes to keeping your car running efficiently and your family safe on the roads. Have you run down your change-of-season maintenance check list?
Check your tires and oil to be sure they are appropriate for heavy rain and hot weather. Confirm that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure. The dramatic temperature changes that are common as seasons change can cause your tires to lose air pressure very quickly.
Potholes are a fact of life in regions that experience freezing and thawing, and it is almost impossible to avoid hitting a few. Getting your wheel alignment checked before going on that summer vacation may save you a lot of unnecessary wear on your tires.
If you haven’t replaced your wiper blades recently, you will want to check them for wear. Wiper blades should be replaced annually to keep them working at top efficiency during heavy rain.
As we enter the dog days of summer, you will not want to be without your air conditioning. A check-up will confirm your coolant level is satisfactory and that your radiator and hoses are in good repair.
Even if you have had your brakes checked recently, it’s a good idea to give them a look before those long summer drives.
